Sending Hugs on Butterfly Wings

There’s something about butterflies and bright blooms that just makes me happy. For today’s card, I wanted to create a cheerful design filled with color, dimension, and lots of beautiful die cut details using the Butterfly Blossom Die and Stencil from Waffle Flower Crafts.

The butterflies were blended with soft shades of blue using the coordinating stencil, giving each one beautiful dimension without a lot of effort. The flowers were ink blended in sunny yellows and vibrant pinks, while the deep green leaves help balance the bright colors and make everything pop.

To finish the card, I added a silver embossed “Sending Hugs” sentiment and scattered a few gems throughout the design for just the right amount of sparkle. The layered butterflies almost appear to flutter right off the card, making this a wonderful design for someone who could use a little encouragement or a thoughtful hello.

One of my goals lately has been to shop my stash and use the supplies I’ve been collecting over the years. This design is easy to customize by changing the flower colors, butterfly shadows or sentiment.
